Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar's Sexy Saturday Songs

1. Labon Se Choom Loon (Aastha - In The Prison Of Spring)

Lyrics: Gulzar
Music: Shaarang Dev
Singer: Sreeradha Banerjee

What a song! And what words. "Bade haseen thhe woh / raah mein jo gunaah mile / Tum hi se janmoon toh shayad mujhe panaah mile" Sreeradha Banerjee's voice, Om Puri reciting Gulzar's poetry, and the pained expression on Rekha's face.

2. Jaadu Hai Tera Hi Jaadu (Ghulam)

Lyrics: Sameer
Music: Jatin-Lalit
Singers: Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu

For me, the highlight of this song is Rani Mukerji and Aamir Khan doing a Michelle Yeoh and Pierce Brosnan on a motorcycle minus the handcuffs and for an amorous reason. Rani Mukerji biting Aamir Khan's ear. Ufff...

3. Maya's Theme (Kama Sutra-A Tale Of Love)

Composed by Mychael Danna

Superb guitar beginning and so very atmospheric. One can visualize Indira Varma by just listening to this song.

And here is another super-enticing song composed by Mychael Danna from the soundtrack of Kama Sutra - A Tale Of Love. Very aptly titled: "Aphrodisiac". The percussions and the voice of Shubha Mudgal in this song: aphrodisiac.

4. Raat Ka Nasha (Asoka)

Lyrics: Gulzar
Music: Anu Malik
Singer: Chitra

Marble rocks and the Narmada at Bhedaghat, Madhya Pradesh. A raft with a sensuous dancer (Gayatri Jayaraman), and a princess-on-the-run (Kareena Kapoor) thinking of the love she has lost. "Tera Nasheela Badan / Baahon Ne Chhoda Nahin". Sach mein, nahin chhoda. A song to remember lovers by.

5. Dilbar Dilbar Dilbar (Sirf Tum)

Lyrics: Sameer
Music: Nadeem-Shravan (uncredited)
Lead Singer: Alka Yagnik
Backing Vocals: Jaspinder Narula (uncredited)

I can never, never tire of this song. I would love to dance like Sushmita Sen. Especially that belly-dancing kind of thing she does before the waterfall. Super! And Jaspinder Narula's stormy backing vocals steal the show.

6. Hai Yeh Maya (Don 2 - The Chase Continues)

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
Music: Shankar Mahadevan-Ehsaan Noorani-Loy Mendonsa
Singer: Usha Uthup

Usha Uthup, the diva, does what she does best. She sings a power packed James Bond-ish song in her inimitable style. Simply stunning!

Also, stunning is its remix by DJ Shane Mendonsa:

7. The World Is Not Enough (James Bond 007 The World Is Not Enough)

Written by David Arnold and Don Black

Performed by Garbage

Is this the best Bond song ever? For me, yes. I love this song. And I love that killing machine called Shirley Manson.

8. Ek Jawani Teri Ek Jawani Meri  (Kachche Dhaage)

Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
Music: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu

Totally uninhibited. This song has the woman expressing her love for the man she loves. The man is in no mood to talk. But the woman does it. And how! "Bujh jaaye dil ki aag / Aag pe ab ke baras toh baras jaaye paani" and "Sharm bahut aati hai mujhe par tujh se main kya sharmaaoon". Amazing song!

9. Yaaram (Ek Thi Daayan)

Lyrics: Gulzar
Music: Vishal Bhardwaj
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan and Clinton Cerejo

This is one song I can sing from start to finish. And maybe I will modify the lyrics a bit for a doctor I love.

"Aur peechhe-peechhe din bhar ghar, hospital mein leke chalenge hum / Tumhare BHT, tumhara stethoscope, physician's samples, tumhara smartphone, aur apna dil."

10. Can't Get You Out Of My Head

Artiste: Kylie Minogue
Album: Fever
Written by Kathy Dennis and Rob Davis

This song is just magical and Kylie shines in it. I can't say more.

Also, there was a lovely all-men cover of "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" in the Comedy Central series, Suits. I am so sad I couldn't find it on YouTube.
