An annual bike ride fully in the nude! The idea is to promote a cleaner alternative to fossil fuel vehicles – the nangu pangu body is a symbol for the vulnerability of humans to pollution.

In this competition participants run completely naked through a tunnel carrying only a torch and running shoes. The fastest male and female runners get trophies as well- A “Ken” doll for men and for women a “Barbie” (naked and in a running position, naturally).

Where: Saidai-ji Temple, Okayama, Japan
On the third Saturday of every February, more than men and boys sprint to a shrine while wearing nothing but white loincloths, or ‘fundoshi.’ They wrestle each other for a pair of holy sticks (‘ofuda’) that are supposed to bring good luck.
